In the series "Van Gogh Dreams of ...", I go in a completely different direction from the minimally edited and what-you-see-is-what-you-get aesthetic I've always followed with the Holga. Using my absolutely juvenile Photoshop skills, I digitally edit Holga images of recognized scenes to replicate (sort of) Van Gogh's brushwork and eye for light. Then, I have the images printed onto canvas and varnished to further evoke the sense of a painting.
The concept was inspired by being asked to exhibit in the lobby during a local theater company's production of Sherlock Holmes spoof, "Van Gogh's Ear."
